Com help us kick off our Lao New Year! Lao New Year celebration is a 3 day event
Day 1: Renewal
This is the last day of the old year, typically we clean the house and cleanse portraits & statues of buddha. The water is also collected to bless friends and family, allowing us to enter the new year blessed, cleansed and purified.
Day 2: No Day
a day that falls on neither the old or the new year. The old spirits have left but the new spirit has yet to arrive. Elders remind younger generations to stay active and refrain from napping to prevent sickness in the upcoming year. We also reserve this day to pour water on the elders to receive their blessings.
